How to avoid stress
From Stories From A Corporate Coach, Richard Winfield, 2013
A well known speaker was asked by a large corporation to deliver the keynote speech at their annual conference.
He asked them what they would like him to speak about. They told him that they were having an increasing problem of stress in the workplace. Could he, please, offer something that would address this.
When the day arrived he held the audience's attention with a wide range of anecdotes and stories, but the organisers could not detect any link to stress.
What was he up to? Had he misunderstood their requirements, or was he letting them down?
He entertained the company for 44 minutes. Then in the last minute he said: "And what about stress? Oh, yes. The answer is simple. Do less."
